![]() | I love my T2! I cant speak highly enough about it. High gain and the bottom end is tight as fuck. Perfect for 7s and like you said, SOOO CHEAP! I use both drop C/D Standard and (now) Drop A/B standard with my 7. And with my Maxon and BBE Sonic Stomp, Its the perfect tone. For me at least Im running it with a Randall MTS cab loaded with Vintage 30s also. MASSIVE!Do yourself a favor and head into you store with your gat(s) and give it a really good go. Dont trust your tone with the store stock guitars. No matter how good they are. Make sure they plug it into a decent cab too, or take your cab down if your planning on using that with your T2. One thing ill suggest is that you use the "green" channel for your main tone. The "boost" channel will take your main tone and, well, boost it! (Duh, right? ) |

![]() | I've been interested in these as well. Do you have to crank them to get good distortion, like a true tube amp? Or is the distortion the same at any volume? |

![]() | Man! Thats soooo cheap. They retail for $2495. 2nd hand or new? Either way Mike, thats a very sweet price. A good chunk cheaper than i got mine, and i work in a music shop! ![]() Sounds like a good idea to give it another bash with your cab. I used mine with a JCM900 cab for recording once and it sounded great. Im keen to know how you go. I have played a bunch of different amps the past 12 months but i kept coming back to the T2. I KNOW that boutique amps like ENGLs, Bogners, VHTs etc have all kinds of crazy awesomeness but nothing touches the Randalls when it comes to quality vs bang for your buck. As far as the differences between T2 and V2, I have played them both alot (we have them in stock here at work) and as much as i dig the V2 heaps with its graphic EQ, tight and loose voice settings, bright switch (that does bugger all!) and master volume, the T2 wins hands down due to the fact that its preamp is all tube so the tone kills on all channels, whereas the V2 has SS clean/od (which are OK) and a tube lead channel. If Randall was to make a T2 with the V2 features, i would poo my pants, then buy 3 ![]() Unlike traditional tube amps, you dont really need to crack it to get a decent tone. The SS/Tube hybrid power amp is 400 watts so you get a tonne of headroom which means clean tight distortion at all levels. Thats right. I said 400 watts! ![]() Ok, thats probably enough Randall love for now. Trust me, i could keep going! Hahaha! Hope that help you dudes further. If you need more info, ill try and answer for yas. Let me know what you guys think if you get to play one. It would be good to know if im on crack or not ![]() |

![]() | I don't mind SS clean, how does the V2 lead channel compare with the T2 lead channel? Do all the extra switches and the graphEQ allow for a more cutting tone? |

![]() | The graphic EQ is pretty awesome. Thats the standout feature the V2 has over the T2. The loose/tight switch has a pretty dramatic effect on the tone also, and makes it sound like it says. I like the tight setting but if you like TONNES of thick bottom end, flick it to loose, and ramp up the resonance. And stand back ![]() Honestly though, the "tube" channels on both amps are pretty equal, minus the graphic that is. Being able to boost your regular distortion for lead on the T2 is pretty handy but If thats something you dont think you need then i would say go the V2, and if the time comes that you need a lead boost channel, buy something like a MXR Micro Amp pedal. As always, try them both out. Let me know how you go. |
