I get bored with its tone though. Tried a krank rev 1 the other day and it sounded pretty good. Chances are I'll keep the 5150II though.

check out an Engl if you want something different, perhaps? or maybe check out the Dorado mentioned above? i heard a clip of another Mako amp and it sounded pretty sweet.

Engle powerball would take a while to save up for. Fireball , I hear, Doesn't cut through live mix well?

What's this dorado you guys are talking about?

I'd say get it modded, but I only say that cause I'm extremely impressed with Machine Head's tone and they've just been modding the same amps! I wanted one for the longest time, but I think I've just settled on something much better suited for me.

Yes your amp should impress you every time you play through it, if it bores you that's a problem.
