![]() ![]() Yeah Petrucci seems to get a pretty sweet rhythm tone out of the Mark IV but then again he's pumping that baby at stadium volumes! Bedroom rocking? Probably not going to hear that same tone. ![]() |

Marks are even louder than most other Mesas. I never turned mine past about 2.5 because it just gets so, SO loud

Honestly, most of the time I've screwed with one I cut it down to 30-ish by putting it in Class A/Triode. Granted, this certainly doesn't help tighten up the low end any, but it makes it MARGINALLY more managable.

Marginally being the key word
It is a fantastic amp but a horrible choice for an apartment or basement practice amp.. the volume curve has a huge spike in it, making it jump from quiet and thin to extremely loud (but still not the full sound) with the smallest turn of the dial, it is very loud and powerful, and since its all mids, it cuts through floors and walls like nobody's business. It was cool for sure, but I hope they take what they've done with the recent Stilettos and Roadsters and roll it into a Mark V at some point in the near future. |
