New amp day coming up!HELP!

So I've recently come into some money as a Grade 12 graduation present and coupled with my savings, I have pretty much enough money to get any head I want (barring a Diezel ) 2700$ is pretty much my limit, new or used. The only amps in stores here are Kranks and Randall's, and they are just not my thing! I play somewhat progressive metal ala Nevermore, Symphony X, Tool, DT, Porcupine Tree, Arch Enemy, Lamb of God, Threat Signal etc...

I've been considering all of these amps:

Framus Cobra/Dragon
ENGL Invader
Engl Savage
Splawn Nitro
Brunetti (?)
Bogner Uberschall

I've been leaning towards the Dragon for it's dark, organic tone and apparently really nice solo tone. If it's a dark amp, would it get muddy with my mahogany neck and body DC 727?

I use an Orange 4x12 cabinet. So if anybody could give me some info about the inherent tone of these heads it'd be much appreciated.

All those amps are "hi gain" amps, but versatile enough to be more much more than "high gain"

but choose Engl Invader

I've tried all of those except Splawn and Brunetti and can afford any of them... I have an Invader. I've never played a more versatile amp and I've damn near played any amp you can think of. It's capable of Jazz, death metal, and everything in between.

sounds awesome. The Invader 100 sounds like a good choice. How is it for lead tones? My absolute favourite lead tone of all time is Guthrie Govan's on his Erotic Cakes album, if the Invader can get ANYWHERE near that it's a done deal.

im just saying you may want to have a lot of extra "emergency" funds around, ya never know when you're giong to need to fork out for something..

go play as many amps as humanly possible through whatever cab you're thinking of, and let us know how it goes.
