![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | My gear setup, wiring it all up Okay, here's the scoop. I got a G-Major on the way, an FCB1010, I already have a Digitech 2101, and I'm going to be running it all into Norbert. Here's how I THINK I'm going to have it wired: Guitar -> NS-2 -> TS9 -> 2101 (For wah and an EQ) -> Norbert -> effects loop to G-Major then return. Does this seem like a sound plan? Everything will be MIDI controlled, including the wah. Should I change the order of anything? Next paycheck I'm snagging a BM rack pie, and plan to eventually get me an ISP Pro Rack G. With the Pro Rack G, for the second channel of that, would I run into that before or after my effects? I'm assuming before. |

Guitar -> wah pedal -> TS9 -> Norbert -send-> G Major -return-> Norbert The EQ in the 2101 is just going to destroy your tone. Remember how good it felt the first time you plugged into your amp? Keep that. I would recommend against any EQ in front of your amp, actually. It makes you sound too processed. Why drag around a two space rack unit, when you can carry around a wah pedal? Never put a noise suppressor in front of your preamp. It sucks tone, and it will chop of your signal at the wrong time. After the preamp (in the loop), and you keep your tone and controllable feedback, while cutting out the stuff you don't want. Make sure to put the G Major in dry kill mode, since the Dragon has a parallel loop. Crank the loop mix level on the amp as wet as you can make it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | what noodles said. Just because you might like food with spice, doesn't mean you should throw the whole spice rack into the stew. A rule of thumb is to keep your pre amplifier tone as direct as possible. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I thought you were always supposed to put the noise suppressor in front of the preamp? And I believe there's a mod for the effects loop to turn it serial, so the Pro Rack G would come in handy then. The only reason I thought of the 2101 for the wah is because I already have it, it's MIDI controlled, and I'm already going to be lugging around the FCB1010, so I might as well use the pedals in that. I was going to sell the 2101 but there's a retarded amount on ebay for cheaper than I bought mine for so it's almost worth it to me to just keep it If I don't use the EQ will it still sound like shit running through the 2101? |
