My Avatar is closed back with dual V30's. The Framus Cobra I played went through a recent Mesa 4x12, which I'm relatively sure come with V30's. That tone kicked serious ass.

Anything else from the Mesa line I should look for?

In your original post you stated you wanted high gain and no "British" sound correct? So now you state that you dont like Dual Rectifiers but like the Stiletto If you want high gain and all that go for the Fireball from ENGL or the Mesa Dual Rectifier. Also what is your price range?

Ever tried a Mark IV? Its tight, middy, and very versatile with great cleans. An overdrive really helps push it over into super high gain territory too (maybe try one with your Carvin?)

I have a bit of Fireball gas as well after listening to Scar Symmetry nonstop, their tone is just so damn tight, but I'm happy with my boosted Mesa.
