Amp GAS/Ideas
So, here's my thoughts:
1) I want a new amp. More specifically, a tube head. More specifically, I'm GASing for the 5150 or some variation of it (I'll be playing as many different amps as I can when I have funds). 2) I want to keep my Flextone II because there's certain tones I can't live without, and I love the flexibility for recording, etc. 3) I have a stereo cab, which I'd like to continue using in stereo with my Flextone when possible. 4) It'd be cool if I could use both amps together (i.e. an A/B/Y type scenario). I know there's such thing as amp switchers that'll let you use more than one head through a single cab. Do any of them allow stereo operation? Do any of them allow you to use both amps at once (one for each side of the cabinet, or both blended through all 4 speakers)? I'd love to be able to use my Flextone for cleans and effects and have my rhythm and lead tone set and ready to go as soon as I A/B over to the other head. Clearly the easiest way would be to run each amp to 1/2 of the 4x12 and add an A/B/Y switch, but I'd rather be able to use all 4 speakers all the time (stereo for the Flextone, if possible). The best bet would be to get a 2x12 or 4x12 for the other amp (5150/6505). Im not aware of anything that would seperate the power outputs and allow you to blend.

If you want 5150 tone without the price look into Bugera Amps
I dont know much about the amp switchers so I cant help you there, but if you have a stereo cab you could use a signal/line splitter to send your guitar to both amps. Then connect both amps to the cab (Just check your impendences). |

They still aren't released. Waiting for legal issues to clear up apparently. New release date is February I believe.

get the 5150 - usa made metal beast for $750? why get a bugera where the build quality is most likely going ot be a bit more sketchy.
i've heard good things about the radial tonebone, but i dont know if any of those guys have actually used one. or sell the behringer and get 2 212 stereo cabs? would that possibly work? oh and check your PM's ![]()
3 cheers for free gear!
