That sounded pretty damn good. I would almost venture to say that it's not real.

Nah, you can tell he's actually playing it (i.e. you're not hearing him playing, but you can tell he's playing exactly what was recorded, especially on the lead parts).

is there a good-audio quality version of this?

i just listened to both clips with halfway-decent headphones, and there audio is just, well, youtube audio. So, no mp3s?

great cover, though. As far as i can hear from the craptacular audio quality, he nailed the tone pretty well.

Youtube compresses everything to hell and does some bizarre EQing of its own.

From what I can hear, the cover song has more bass, less mids, too much gain, and a high end fizz. The basic characteristic of the tone is pretty remarkably close, but the definition and fizz kill it from sounding like "the real thing". One thing for sure, though. He was able to get the guitars to have an in your face, aggressive tone, which is slightly tricky with Line6 gear, IMO.

I, for one, would love to have those presets =)

Your ass here!

Its pretty good, but it still sounds like a Line6, , a sound which grates me. Fair play to the guy though, I still find it listenable, which says a lot.

To whoever neg-repped me, and trust me I was expecting at least one, it's just a fact. The sound of modeling and solid state just cannot stand up to the amazingness that is tube amps. It's ironic in a way, that outdated technology in computers and such are what's the pinnacle of awesome tone in guitars.

The guitars are muddy, and the highs are fizzy as shit and need some taming. It also sounds like there's a little too much EQ or compression or something on it. That may or may not be the youtubization, though. Not bad overall, though that wouldn't take long to fatigue my ears. Still way better than I can do at this point.
