LOL!

Man, I'm glad I'm extremely cautious with amp volumes. If it isn't my amp (aka, music store jamming), I make sure to dial master and channel volumes all to 0 and proceed from there.

Needless to say, though, it's happened to me before. I actually managed to do it to a Randall RM100GL (Lynch Box) about a month ago when I was visiting the Sam Ash store in Florida =x

Your ass here!

some guy I know on another forum actually shattered his eardrum by doing something similar. Crouched down low near the speaker without earplugs because there was no sound. It was on 9 or 10 and bamshnazzle suddenly sound came back and blam crack crickle, he fainted and is now deaf in one of his ears.

holy fuck!

I remember that. You called me from inside the stadium, told me you were setting up speakers or some jazz

Sounds like a fun job, though.

That happened to me in a music store once (on a Crate I think), rather embarrassing. I've always kept amps really low while trying them out since then

Guilty as charged.

I think we've all been there. I seem to routinely do it with my band's PA system, which rules, because it makes those other fuckers jump out of their skin.

I get some dirty looks.

hahaha @ 30 000 watts of erupting noise! :P

i wanted to see what an acoustic sounded like pluggded into an electric guitar amp once, in a store... the guy saw me going for it, and said "dude, no! yous shouldn´t do that!", and i was like "dude, i´ve done this before!" and he was like "dude?" and i was like "dude!" and he was like "dude..."

so i plugged it in, and SCREEEEECHBOOOOOOOOOM!

scared the fuck out of me, and he was just shaking his head at me :P

thing is, i HAD tried it before, but that was at reeeeeally low volumes :P

deathmask666 can only hope to improve
I have never done that...Even in a music store...But my lead guitarist does that all the time...Especially on a friend of mines Peavey 6150...That is a loud fucking amp...

bah, I own the PA and only I touch it cause the rhythm guitarist likes to do that, I usually stop him though. He cranks my 10 watt amp too load, there's no tellin what he'd do with 350.

He's the only one in the band who doesn't where ear plugs so he's a bit obsessed with volume knobs. I don't look forward to him messing with my first tube.
