Bypassing the tone controls on an amp?
Since I have found some stuff out about the setup I was going for, I have been looking for another head that will do what I want. I really like the sound of the engl fireball, but hate the idea that I cant tailor the clean and lead channels eq differently. What I have been toying around with is leveling the eq and using an effects unit as the eq (ala gmaj or Xpression) so I would have 128+ eq options. The question is, how would this sound/compare to the actual eq on the head. Would it not sound as natural?
