![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I've narrowed down my search I'm going up to GC this weekend to try out a new Stiletto Ace (they have one in stock in the back). Samash is close by and has a used Mark iv combo for 1550 - firstly, is this too much? What's a reasonable price for these that I should ask them to lower it to? would it be smart to get a combo and just plug it into my 212 to play shows with - does it have the power to do so? ![]() I want something that's crunchy and raw - more than the Pball can provide. I love it, but I want a different taste. i miss the feel of my previous mesa's so i'm definitely going back. So which would you choose? A new stage 2 stiletto (either an ace or a deuce - I don't need access to 150 watts ) or a mark iv combo?I liked the trident I jammed on, but also loved the tone of the mark. I'm playing metal ala killswitch (their style and tone), but I like more mids and prefer lamb of god's tone (which i know are mark ivs). The stilettos have that singing crunchy tone and the Mark has that uniqueness that's very saturated and tight. Budget is around 12-1600, so both are easily accessible. I still love the marshalls i've tried out, but I think boogie has a slightly more appealing crunch. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | You already know how I feel about this Mark IV combos have the same amount of power as the head. They sound pretty decent too just on their own, and its nice to only have to lug around one unit instead of a head plus cab. But the combo weighs a LOT. _________________________ "Ah, she's built like a steakhouse but she handles like a bistro" - ZB My Soundclick Page |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Stiletto II any day of the week, and twice on Sunday. The Mark IV does have a really nice lead channel, but that is about it. I thought Mesa got it right with the IIc+ and should have stopped trying. On the other hand, the Stiletto is the gift that keeps on giving. Every mode of both channels on the amp provides amazing, usable tones. If Rectos did not exist, it is what I would be playing full time. Hell, if they come out with a three channel version, it might replace the Recto. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Coolness ![]() They have a stiletto ace combo brand new for 1599, which is within price, but i'd like to stay lower of course. The head is only 1499, so the combo might be a wise choice. I just wish i could go used |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I like the idea of the 112 because it pushes the same power but exhibits that portable feel. I have a 212 cab that I'll use too, and if I plug it in as an extension it will fill out the spectrum nicely. Plus recording with it would be fun (although I wish it had a C90 and not a V30 for a change). |
