So who has tryed the Spider-Valve amps?

It's still digital, It just has a nicer power section now. It's still gonna sound like a line six amp. Plain and simple.

I played one. The bottom line is, it's a line 6 that actually won't sound progressively worse as you crank it, and in fact will sound better. That said, it still reacts and sounds like a Line 6. For the price it's not too bad, but you could still fetch a used Mesa combo for less than that with ease.

no shops in bristol have them in at the moment, basicly to try one id have to drive to cardiff which is like 2 hours away..

then drive two hours. i had to drive two hours for the nearest shop where i live.. to get a good amp, it's worth it.

but going from a fireball to a spider valve is kind of a downgrade.. at least go from Fball to Vetta..
