![]() | Best speakers for Metal Hey guys im getting a John Suhr 4x12 unloaded, but i dont know what speakers i want to put in it yet. I need this thing to sound huge. im not really a vintage 30 guy, but im open to just about anything else. This cab is straight front, and built the same way as a bogner uberkab and a diezel cab. should i do an x pattern of 2 different types of speaker? EV? Eminence? Celestion? im pretty open. Im using a 100 watt Two Rock Custom Reverb Artist that i had made for me a couple of years ago, and im gunna get a Diezel VH4S or a CAA OD100 SE+ sometime soon. I play akward prog metal atonal stuff and alot of death metal with huge leads. Like Meshuggah/Dillinger and Arch Enemy/Children of Bodom. My teacher Joe Stump uses marshall cabs and i like his sound alot. Give me your suggestions! |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | well, it depends on the cab. V30s are kind of meh in ENGL cabs, but slay in orange cabs. I'm sure most dudes will suggest you celestion c90's indepently of cabs. they're supposed to be less middy than v30s and also tighter in the bass. anyway, i'm talking about these guys: ![]() |

My favs are: V30's & G12T-75's (I HATE both of these speakers alone but together they sound killer!) Eminence Swamp Thangs & Tonkers The better choice IMO. Two speakers that are kind of opposite of eachother so together they cover EVERYTHING! VERY tight and percussive, perfect for metal! |

I've also played the GT75/V30 combo in the Bogner Uberkab, and it sounded great. A little too middy for my taste, but a great heavy rock sound. I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways, we could reverse the particle flow through the gate. We'll cross the streams. |
