![]() ![]() | Mesa Rect-o-verb So, an opportunity has presented itself to me, to get a Mesa Rect-o-verb 50W head with a Rectifier 2X12, for a very, very decent price (Well, decent in Israel). Do any of you guys have any experience with this amp? I know you're all ENGL heads now, but you must have heard a few Mesa's in your life time. ![]() Will it do that famous Mesa Dual Rectifier tone? Or will it sound quite different? What do I actually lose/gain with this VS a Dual Rectifier (Except for the obvious one less channel)? Any help/comments about this amp would be very much appreciated. ![]() |

![]() | I have never compared a regular DR or Triple Rectifier and a Rectoverb directly. Nevertheless, the Rectoverb is a very nice rectifier amp. I would have bought it to use with my TriAxis setup, if I had had the money. Nice bass thump with aggressive crunch. Of course, it depends on how you dial it. It is still one sweet amp. |

![]() ![]() | I use a Mesa Rectoverb Single Rec and I have to say it's the best amp I've ever played through or heard, and I work in a store that's an ENGL dealer and has several others highly reputed amps, so I've played through a fair share of high end amps. The gain is superb and the EQ is amazingly responsive. The sound is just so deep and powerful, it's just awesome. It also weighs about 100 lbs. but it's the sweetest amp ever. I'd recommend it to anyone. Let me also say that at the store my boss and I A/Bed it to someone's Dual Rec and while the rec had a "harsher" sound, it was more raw (the best I can describe it), mine sounded a lot more full in comparison. It's hard to describe the sound of the amp not only because it's versatile, but the depth is just spectacular. Last edited by WillingWell; 11-19-2007 at 11:15 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | we're not ALL Engl heads ![]() IMO, having spent some time on one at a Guitar Center, it's a fucking sweet amp compared to the loads of shit they have at my Guitar Center. and, it's pretty sweet compared to a lot of higher priced boutique stuff. I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways, we could reverse the particle flow through the gate. We'll cross the streams. |
