i dunno about the BBE thing, but what gauge strings are you using? beefy strings are your friend!

EQ the amp for the guitar as best you can.

3 cheers for free gear!

The tube screamer would probably work best. An overdrive would basically tighten up the signal a bit and really add emphasis to the good qualities of the amp. I've heard the BBE isn't a very good match for Mesas, but it wouldn't hurt to try it out!

I'm assuming he's going to want to mass produce these rack pies, and why not? I love racks, I love pies, so put them together and you have pie covered titties. - JJ

OK, I'm getting this amp this week, and an obligatory TS9 to go along with it.

Pics to follow.

Sorry for all the questions, just looking to gain as much info from you guys.
I have both the rectoverb AND the BB preamp (you meant the bb preamp by xotic effects, not the BBE, right?). The BB was just the tone I was looking for. It's way much thicker and creamier than the tubescreamer, has a very precise eq section and man, I never heard so much gain and dB's delivered by a single pedal! Works great both with clean and lead. Check out Andy Timmon's demo on youtube, it's exactly what it sounds like-except for he's using a fucking lonestar. It won't take the place of a tubescreamer- again, it's a gain monster, you can't leave it on, or anyway it's not what it was thought for- I use a sparkle drive for that, which is basically a tubescreamer.

Been too busy to post a some pics and review, just logged on here for the first time in weeks yesterday.

Anyway, this amp kicks ass. Awesome rythem, awesome lead, awesome clean, and trust me dude, I'm only playing this through a 2X12, and this is fucking loud as hell.

Got a TS9 a few hours before I got the amp, felt it was a must. It truly makes your rythem x1000 times better. Especially with passives.
