Picks slipping

By some this is considered a stupid topic but by others a realistic one. I've been using Dunlop Tortex for a long time now. I've always had issues with them getting kinda slick feeling but lately they've been slipping out of my fingers a bit too often and it's getting annoying. I was thinking of either trying Dunlop Gator Grip picks or that Gorilla Snot stuff. Just wanted to know if anyone had any opinions/suggestions on these items or for picks that keep slipping out of your hands.

i use dunlop tortex because my fingers get sweaty when playing. they work good for me. i haven't really tried many other pics. maybe you should try a fresh new tortex.

Now would be a great time to try some Jazz III's...

The black ones are the stickiest, although the embossed logo gives you fairly good grip for all of them.

I've got these great picks that say "COOL" on them, and have a little circle of sandpaper on either side. I've never dropped one yet. In fact, with the sandpaper my finger tips don't even get sweaty.

the "COOL" ones are neat. If you use a standard pick, you can do some stuff i used to do - Put a nail through it.. the hole helps. Or burn/partially melt a side of it. that'll make it uneven and easier to grip

Just wanted to let everyone know NOT to do this with synthetic tortex picks and celluloid picks. They go up like mini-fireballs, which is cool if you're expecting it, but quite dangerous if you're not.

I would stay away from Gorilla Snot - I tried some of a friend's once, and while I like to get a good grip on the pick, I found that the pick being actually stuck to my fingers was very uncomfortable. Plus, that stuff gets everywhere

i use Dunlop Delrin picks, which are smoother than the Tortex ones, without slippng. i guess i just don't get as sweaty.

the sandpaper thing sounds like an idea you might try. i guess, just superglue some on there :p
