![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | just personal preference. its an incredibly organic sounding amp, and it just had this quality in the gain channels that i fell in love with. think of it as a better sounding rectifier (though that's not exactly what it sounds like, that's the best thing i can think of for comparison) with the lead tone of a mark IV. the clean channel is beautiful and warm. the gain channels are almost exactly alike, except that channel two seems to be quite a bit djentier than channel three, which has more gain and is amazing for smooth lead tones. you don't have any way to try these amps yourself? I'm typing this on my knees with my butt in the air. -Drew |

Nope. Not unless I take time off work, take a trip to Montreal (for the Mesa stuff, I don't know who would have Engl in stock up there though) and try it out there, which would end up costing me a fuck ton of money to try it out. Or go down to the states somewheres, but same thing. I figure if I don't like it, someone around here will snatch it up as you can't find any of this shit around here. I loved the clean samples for the Dragon, the high gain samples (some of them) on the samples page kick the shit out of the Dragon though IMO. I just wish I could A/B them ![]() |
