Anyone ever had a Line 6 amp repaired?
hey guys, i have had a 2 10 inch spider amp since they came out long ago, one day a few years back it just went out, i'v kept it and it is in great shape other than not working, has anyone had a line 6 product repaired? can you even get it repaired, would it even be worth it? i'v been moving my rig alot and been wanting/needing a nice simple little combo for home jamming and i thought this could be a cheap fix

I bought a Spider II 2x12 and it died on me within a few weeks. I took it to the "authorized repair center" which was a 2 1/2 hour drive into the middle of nowhere, PA , and the dude took 3 weeks to fix it. Yes, it can be fixed but depending on how often the "authorized" guy has fixed line 6 stuff and how fast they are about getting the parts to him it might take a while.
I was pissed because going 3 weeks without an amp when that was my ONLY amp was way too long. With the solid state stuff it's mostly troubleshooting and PCB replacement so in theory it wouldn't seem too hard but I don't think they ship parts direct to customers so you will either have to take it to an "authorized" facility or ship it back to Line 6. Most normal amp techs won't work on Line 6 stuff because there's not a ton of stuff in there that they can repair really other than replacing the whole board. Mine was covered by Line 6 because it shouldn't have been broken that soon but I have no idea what it would cost to pay for a repair from them. Since it's an older model (original spider?) I would think that either:A) the part(s) would be cheap B) they might not repair it as they might not support "legacy" items any longer. Did you send customer service an email yet? ![]() ![]() |

Yeah, considering an original spyder is now something like 6 or 8 year old technology, you can probably just buy a new one for less than the cost of fixing yours.
You want kickass tone on the cheap? Tech-21 Trademark 30. ![]()

Or the good old standby - the Roland Cube 30x.
One of my personal favorites for inexpensive practice amps that sound pretty darn good IMHO. ![]() |

i recently got a cube 30 as a practice amp. Is there any difference tonewise to the 30x model? i know the 30x has the additional power squeeze and dyna-amp model, but is there a difference in tone?

I heard about someone who can change the color of the HD147 and I'm interested in it. When you turn it on, it's purple but I saw a pic of one that was red and I thought it was badass.

7StringofAblicK-This is my footswitch. it changes channels on my amp - just like on a television, but I only have four channels.
