Guys, if he had the same problem with a Cube 30, odds are it's not a microphonic tube.

It's probably microphonic pickups - go down to a guitar shop and see if your guitar does the same thing in all the amps there, but another guitar off the wall does not. Likewise, you'd get weird crackle and hum issues which possibly could turn into feedback if you were using a speaker cable instead of a instrument cable, but that's a real longshot...

Oh shit, sorry guys, and thank you. I completely forgot I made this thread. Ya, I will post a video today, I'll give you an example. It has crazy hum for each one of my guitars. I'll post settings too. Sorry.

Each one of your guitars? That's weird.

At my apartment in Waltham, there was something up with the grounding. No matter what I did, even with 'buckers, there was always background hum present with the amp. Anywhere else I'd plug in, it was dead silent. I looked at Furman conditioners, but ended up moving before I shelled out that kind of cash, and haven't had a problem since. Maybe it's something like that? Can you try the Cube (since it's the most portable) somewhere else and get back to me?

Yes, I can. I can't do the video today unfortunately, I'm out of town right now, I'll get the video up tomorrow night.

But yeah, the buzzing is ridiculous. And it gets worse, depending on which direction I point the guitar.

First thing to figure out is exactly where the problem lies. You have to figure out between the guitar, cables, other pieces in the mix, and the amp itself.

It sounds like you've tried different guitars and had the problem occur on two different amps. Is this still the current situation? If so, try a different cable between the guitar and amp. If that doesn't work, it will be time to simplfy your signal chain in order to trouble shoot. I find it easiest to immediately simply my signal chain completely (guitar > amp) and start adding things back in one at at time if it goes away. If it doesn't go away and you have defintely ruled out the guitar and cable (that exact guitar and cable has been verified to be 100% electronically problem free), I can walk you through some things to check on the Mark IV. It will include even simple things like making sure the channel switching selector on the back is set in the correct position.

Even if it turns out to be the amp, just know that Mark IVs still rule - you just have to get yours fixed first!

your webcam couldnt pickup feedback???? pretty sure any microphone would be able to pick up feedback, especially if it makes the sound unplayable.. :S

do you get feedback if you play a friend's rig?

3 cheers for free gear!
