I converted one of my six string guitars (EBMM SUB1) from H-H to H-S-S using all BL's pups. I must say for a stratty tone I was really impressed, especially since they only cost like 50.00. Have you tried phoning them up and asking, they seem really cool!

If you really want to make this work, ask them how many people they need to make a run of them at what price point, then come back and let us all know. Then we can hit other forums and try to drum up enough support. I'd be interested in one.

I sent Becky an email:

Hi Becky,
This is Bill Loucas, I bought an L500XL from you a while back and I must say I LOVE this pickup. Anyway, I know that there are many people that are interested in a 7 string version of this pickup. I know you said you had no plans to design one last time I asked you, but I was wondering if you would consider doing this if you had enough pre-paid orders? How many orders do you want to make a run of them, and at what price point?

I understand there is much to consider such as machining new sizes of bobbins and bars, not to mention Bill undergoing the task of getting the 7 string version to sound like the 6 string version, but I know the 7 string community would compensate the efforts for this, as well as exercise the patience to wait.

Thank you,
Bill Loucas

You might want to throw them a link to this site & this thread, specifically. That way they will understand that there REALLY is a genuine interest in getting a batch made & not just some schmo blowing smoke up their ass.

Not to hijack this thread or anything, but has anyone tried the Rio Grande 7 string pup?

Hi Bill and thanks for staying in touch. I'll let Bill know that there are numerous folks, like yourself, who would love to have a 7 string L-500 pickup.

Take care,

Becky
