![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | i love my whammy :P i´ve ordered the pod X3 Live, and i actually had a dream about receiving it, and to my ultimate horror, i discovered that it was the damned bean-model, when i bought the live version :P anyways, waiting for it to receive, and thinking about making a really sick setup with it and the whammy together, with a MIDI cable... so different patches could have different whammy settings... and the whammy has one dry and one wet added-output, so i was thinking i could sorta plug both in, and in some patches have a different signal chain for each output, so the whammy-affected one could be like a weird background-effect with lots of delays and reverbs etc, while the dry sound is in the foreground lotsa possibilities! -------------------------------------- Æn Æppl Æ Dæi, Kiips De Dåktor Awæi |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | There are LOTS of threads on this if you want to look through a lot of info. I'd go with the POD for metal. My opinions on these units are more or less the same as DeL07's, except that I don't feel the metal pack is mandatory for metal. Doesn't hurt, though ![]() "Tom, you're like 1 part a serious dork, and 2 parts the most awesome fucking guy ever." - ![]() guitargeek.com style rig diagram Pics of my gear Virtual studio tech testing ground Last.FM |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I like the tone and 'feel' of my GNX3000, more than the PODxt I used to have, and it sounds better than my GT8 run direct. What I don't like is this damn pick-attack squawk noise that I seem to be unable to dial out now matter how hard I try. |

![]() Metal + models + budget = POD, or maybe Digitech if you like that "flavor" better When you get whatever you get, try it both in front of the amp and straight into the power amp. The tube in the preamp might help warm it up a bit and make it more organic, but it might not be worth the extra color the preamp will give it. | |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I bought a Boss GT-8 for its versatility. At some point I will get a decent and when I do I can still use the GT-8 as my effects processor. ![]() The amps models sound ok, but they do require a lot of tweaking, the eq sections and Tone Modify effect help a lot. ![]() | The pitch shifter and harmonizer are pretty crap on the XT. I'm not sure what the gnx's are like but since they made the original whammy I'd like to think their version is a bit better. |

![]() ![]() | My friend and fellow metal head used a Pod XT Live with his Marshall Valvestate and it slayed, that is, until another one of our friends got drunk and pissed on it, then proceeded to stomp the shit out of it. Metal. I'm assuming he's going to want to mass produce these rack pies, and why not? I love racks, I love pies, so put them together and you have pie covered titties.
