Gain: 10
Bass: 10
Mids: 0
Highs: 10

-> Teh br00talz tr00 metal tone!

no, really, this thing is one of the easiest amps to dial in. With all knobs at noon it sounded pretty damn good already, though already too much gain. Over the engl v30 cab, i ended up cranking the mids and bass a bit (both at around 6-7, lowering the gain to 3-4 and with highs and presence still at around noon.

I'm sure changing the cab and guitar will affect the tone A LOT, so all knobs at noon and gain at 3-4 would be a good starting point, IMO.

Hmm. maybe I'm dumb but what do you mean by e.g. 6? Or 7? When I refer to the knob settings I always speak of it in terms of an ordinary clock... Do you really count all those little marks around the knob? And know these numbers by heart? I'm just wondering... Anyways, if you look at the knob and imagine a clock, then GAIN is sort of 10/11 o'clock, bass 10 o'clock, mids 11 o'clock, highs and presence SLIGHTLY after 9 o'clock. Depth button engaged. I have found (following Karl Hungus' advice) that if you crank the highs and presence (and Mids) too much, the amp starts to sound a little harsh...

all those little marks? theres 10 of those little marks on every knob on every amp ive ever seen or played including bogners mesas vhts, engl, marshall, crate, line 6. So to be honest i dont look i just asume its split into 10 and decimalised like pretty much everything else is, maybe im wrong.

Yep. 6 in marks would be approx. 1 o'clock. 5 is typically the half-way point, or noon.

Your ass here!

Heh, stupid me. I've never realised until now that there are only ten of those. Next time I'm in my rehearsal space I need to get round to counting them... I hope to make it to ten somehow...
Keep your fingers crossed!

Off_The_Heezay will become famous soon enough
gain - 10 o'clock
bass - 9 o'clock (w/ depth switch in)
mids - 3 o'clock
treble - noon
presence - around noon, maybe a bit higher

i always mess about with the presence and occasionally mids when playing live, and i turn the gain to nearer 9 and add a touch of treble when i'm using my C7.
