Recommend me some good delay & chorus pedals -KTHXBYE!!1
a friend of mine is going to borrow me his dual rec (which he won't be needing during the next months
) to replace my flextone on my current rig until i get a new head (still can't decide ). I've been using the built-in FX on the flextone so far which leaves me without effects for my new setup. I don't use much effects besides chorus and/or delay so i don't think a multi-fx processor like a g-major would be necessary for my needs. So far, i've been looking at the BOSS CE-5 and DD-3. I really won't be using delay-times over 800ms, so something with similar features like the DD-3 will do.are these any good? which other pedals should i be looking at? @LordOVChaos: do you also build delay / chorus pedals ? thanks dudes! apparently nobody of you guys is using chorus or delay pedals they can comment on... I don't use any chorus pedals, don't like the sound. But I run a Guytone Tube Echo+Boss DD-6+EHX Holy Grail. I love this setup. The Tube echo is the best delay/echo I've heard yet. The saturation you can add to it, gives you that old analog sound. Plus the pedal is tube powered which adds some more warmth.
If you're looking for just some slight delay, go with the Boss Delay. Hope this helps. |

I use a Boss CH-1 chorus, and a Line 6 Echo Park for delay, which I really dig. The tape delay and reverse emulations are damn cool.

The dd-3 has been a fun bedroom pedal for me, but if you're looking for something gig-worthy i'd look for something with at least a tap tempo function and possibly some user presets you can use. As far as chorus... I haven't developed a discriminating enough ear to say what sounds great and what don't, so i've been using the boss CH-1.

Check out the new TC Electronics Nova Delay. I got to play one the other day and would say it is hands-down the best pedal delay I've ever seen.
T.C. Electronics Nova Delay!!! :yum:

what about the G-major? are the chorus and delay effects on these on par with good pedals? The g-major would also allow me to change channels on my amp and the built-in noise-gate would also come in handy. I'm not really interested in the other effects it has. Maybe reverb, but chorus+delay would be what i use most.

G-Major > ANY pedal
IIRC, you can find them used for the price of a few new quality pedals. |
