Engl powerball owners!! a question...

i just picked up one of these bad boys.(thanks diezelmonster ) and i have a question. i put my g-force in the effects loop, and it wrecks the tone.it gets all squished and nasally?!? so what i need to know. can i use the effects loop send out as a line out to my g-force and then to power amps? ala a w/d/w/ setup? so no effects return to the head.

Man I wish I could help - I've yet to use the effects loop (all I would use is a delay pedal anyways haha).

Send a PM to 'Bulb;' he was an avid Pball user for quite some time and IIRC used a Gmajor in the loop

i finally tried it. and it's awesome. i am running two 1960b 4x12's as the center(dry channel) and two 1960a 4x12's as left wet and right wet. for the wet channels i am using my g-force and two of my velocity 300 poweramps. i am going to try a couple of other rack pieces and see what i like. i still have to spread the cab's out for spatial response, but here's a temporary pic...

check your cables man, the gmajor is surprisingly transparent in the effects loop, its really easy to a/b cuz you just turn the mix knob one way to bypass the loop, and i tested it with the invader which has a switch on the front to switch loops, the difference is so slight, you would never notice in a live situation, and surprisingly i actually preferred the gmajor sound even when it wasnt doing anything haha.

so far i am in love. the only odd thing is channel 4 (lead2) is noisy? i turn up the noise gate and the whole amp is quiet as the grave. except channel 4

and does anyone know where to get the z5 fooswitch? preferably cheap...

Nice score, i love my powerball.

Is yours a V1? I have a new V2 PB and the noise gate kills all the noise even on channel 4.

I had to find a z-5 used since everywhere was out of stock. Try rocksolidamps.com but i dont know if they have any in yet. When i bought my PB a little over a month ago they said they should have Z-5s by mid september.
