The Orange amps you buy in the US are made in the US, because otherwise you guys and your shitty economy just wouldn't buy them AT ALL. As it stands, they still are pricey, but I think Orange cabs sound better than Mesa's etc. The only reason I don't own one is because I can't get past that Orange tolex.

The Orange rep is actually swinging by work later on this week so I'll have a chat with him about getting a black one....or RED.

Oh and bulb....I know. I'll do it. Promise.

crewchief is on a distinguished road
This guy is using a Rocker 30 I believe, but he is using an OD pedal to push it. So in a sense I don't think Orange's can get that "brutal". I mean with no pedals my 6505+ can still crush this thing.

Saw the thrash-revival (?) band Early Man live last year - they were using Orange stacks and it sounded amazing.

I actually like the Rocker 30 a lot more then the Rockerverbs. It has more of its own voicing going on, but has fewer gain stages so it doesn't get as brutal on its own. It is more dynamic though and with a boost, doubletracked, it sounds bitchin, and with another guitarist playing a more mid-scooped amp you would get a great full range sound from your guitars (total punishment for the audience). Also, 30 watts means more saturation and overall coolness but the clean channel doesn't quite cut the mustard for me.

Hmm, yeah, the two Orange amp models that are really perking my interest are the Tiny Terror and the Rocker 30. I highly doubt that I'll ever need more than 30w tbh considering I would mic the amps live anyway. It also really interests me because my band's guitarist loves his scooped mids. Slaps me whenever I try to tweak his tone haha.

Sakeido, do you reckon something like a TS in front of the Rocker 30 would make it a lot more... djenty? I was thinking of boosting the signal with a pedal anyway (which reminds me, I need to get my MD2 chaosmodded ). Oh and Keith, do you know if they were boosting their signal with a pedal? @_@

Man, it still won't be a good while until I get enough cash for a new amp (saving up for lots of gear related stuff atm) but sadly I'm a poor student who does not have the liberty of impulse buying which leads to a lot of research and shit.

Thanks everyone so far, btw!

I've never tried one with a boost before so I couldn't really say if it would djent. It isn't the kind of amp that I would associate the djenty sound with though - even with a pedal pushing the front end, I don't think it would have the kind of gain you are looking for. But I am just guessing here - maybe it could work, if you had some super hot pickups as well.
