NAD: Mesa Stiletto (56k come on in)

Got a Stiletto Deuce off Boogieboard.com. Got it yesterday! I like the amp so far. I'll see if I keep it for the long haul. Anyway, thanks for looking!

It's basically a Mesa-fied Hotrodded Marshall sound. I didn't *love* the sound of it by itself, but I heard it in a mix with a band using a recto AND a Stiletto (Mark II) and the sound was absolutely incredible! Those two mesas work REALLY well together in a mix!

Guitars: PRS, Suhr, Parker, Carvin, .strandberg*
Rig: EVH 5150 III 50w, Mojo 4x12 cab, Port City OS 1x12 cabs, Atomic CLR

Indeed... Kinda like Devin Townsend's rig! The Rectifier for the mushy low-end and the Stiletto to fill in the mids!

Up the shut ...., you must.

This is a stage 1. Supposedly like a modded JCM. What little I've played with the settings I like so far.

The Rectifier doesn't have a mushy low-end if you know what you're doing. The Rectos are all about mids IMO. I don't doubt the Stiletto is good, but you don't need another amp to "fill in the mids" if you know how to set up a good Mesa. If you're at the stage where you need 2 heads to make one good sound, you probably should just sell both and get something else. Keep in mind guitar = mids, the lows and highs are important factors but the midrange is the fundamental part a guitar and that should be the point of emphasis. The mids on my bandmate's Dual Rec with the TS808, Tung Sol in v1, Black Shadows, etc are amazing.

Every metal album before 1986. Seriously. The second gen ones are the amp to get if you want a Marshall.

Nice. I prefer the stage II's, but if it has the "Hollywood" mod (or something similar), then I'm sure it's working just fine.

Division - American metal that doesn't suck. Much. Even on Facebook, and Soundclick might eventually be updated, too.

My es brought you to your knees eh?

[action=Mike] is intrigued by how awful the Express is, and still wants to hear it, and whilst Dave is recovering from awful-tone-exposure (ATE) I'll swipe his Roadster leaving the Express in it's place, and go to wonderland with the Roadster...and return it on Daves doorstep a week later[/action]
