Marshall raising prices

Some people over at guitargeek.com, including one of the mods, said that a dealer was sending this email out about Marshall raising their prices pretty soon. I figured a lot of you here might want to know about it, too.

Quote:
I've received some news here that I thought you might like to be aware
of. We just had an amazing meeting with the guys from Marshall amps. US
Product Manager for Marshall Amplification, Nick Bowcott, demonstrated
the new JVM and Vintage Modern amps for us (which, by the way, sound
awesome).

During the meeting, they gave us a heads-up on a change that's coming.
This is "insider" info and I wanted you to know before it was too late,
especially since this isn't information you'll really be able to get
anywhere else.

The news is that Marshall is raising all of their prices by as much as
10% on September 1, 2007 - just a short while from now. I wanted to let
you know because if you are planning on picking up a Marshall amp or
cabinet, you'll save good money by buying now, instead of waiting.

Let me know if you have any questions on this, or if you're interested
in an amp. I'm happy to help!

^ Heh, yeah, I know most people here prefer stuff like Mesa, Engl, VHT, etc, but I'm sure there with all the members we have here there are plenty of Marshall fans I like a few of their products myself.

Their amps are already hopelessly overpriced as is, doesn't matter to me though. Some of their amps are nice but that ship has sailed.

oh yay! one more reason to not buy a Marshall

* Leon kinda liked the Vintage Modern, but it's probably the only Marshall he's ever liked.

I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways,
we could reverse the particle flow through the gate.
We'll cross the streams.

I played an old JCM-800 channel switcher.

Best amp I ever played.

But other than that. I'm more of a mesa and engl person. Now if only I could afford them.

But thanks for the heads up. My other guitarist plays marshall.

Ignorance is not bliss. Ignorance only hides the truth. And the longer that truth has to hide, the more it stings when it makes itself known.

Brord is a jewel in the rough
My first tube amp was a jcm800 2210 100 watt Marshall with a jcm800 4x12 cab and I liked it a lot. For some reason I still have some sort of weak spot for marshall. I think Marshalls sound pretty good in band mixes, when you need to have a somewhat dryer tone, which could sound boring when played alone. Anyway Marshall has some great tones available!

Kop-ik-win, munt-jij-verliest.

The top of the Marshall line are spectacular amps, IMO, yet I have never ever owned a Marshall amp that cost me more than $15.

This news of them raising their prices could be legit, or it might be a rumor started to boost sales before the end of summer.
