Rocktron Hush noise gate

Rocktron Hush noise gate =

so, i took a trip to GuitarCenter today in Toledo, looking for a noise gate. one of the salesmen sold me this:

it doesn't work that great. it cuts the hiss from my current modular effects pedal down about half, but that's not enough for me . i want clean modular effects!!

it also cuts out alot of the reverb/delay, probably thinking it's noise!

so, i'll be taking this back sometime next week (paid $70 for it), and will continue saving up for something on the order of a G-Major, to put in my FX Loop, rather than getting more crap to put between the guitar and amp.

I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways,
we could reverse the particle flow through the gate.
We'll cross the streams.

The hush is designed to cut the noise from your preamp or distortion pedal. It's meant to go after your preamp/distortion pedal, and BEFORE any effects. It's not intended to cut noise from noisy effects boxes. The idea there is to buy effects that aren't noisy in the first place.

having said that, the TC is a good way to go

MMMMmm. Vince i agree ..but there are old skoolers who enjoy vintage pedals and etc.. so until someone finds a secret weapon of a sort that doesn't bleed our rigs dry of it's tone...Try a I.S.P. Decimator it works very well...and install it in the effects loop after a G-Major if you wish. Good luck buying, it is always an option and a costly one at that !

i guess that since my pedal is sort of a preamp+modular multi unit type deal, it would definitely create problems, as far as trying to put the noise gate inbetween the preamp and modular sections :p. using the Hush after the pedal in my chain did very little. really, i didn't even notice that my pedal was noisy until i got my high gain tubes. then it was quite apparent! but even so, i'll go G-Major before i go back to stock tubes

my ART Xtreme Plus pedal has been great to me so far. it's delivered on so much for only costing me $100. but, it seems that it is time for it to retire.
