Main Seven: RG7321 Rig: TriAxis + VHT2502 Thanked: 0
![]() | Tube Amp Experience Hi everybody, I thought I would share this experience that I got last night with my TriAxis, VHT2502, and Behringer BG412s stereo set up. My guitar was Ibanez RG7321 with Blaze Custom and Air Norton 7. My band just started renting a new rehearsal place where we can use our equipment. I have never heard my rig sounded that good. It was like a revelation. I noticed that the differences were: the room was decent acoustically and I had the power amp at 1 o'clock. I never set the volume of my power amp that high. It was loud, but it sounded really good and huge sounding. Everything sounded great and most importantly, natural. There was no sound of enhanced bass, mid, and treble. The timbre was very balanced. A comparable sound is John Petrucci's sound in the Rock Discipline DVD, but not scooped. The point: if you haven't cranked your tube amp to at least 1 o'clock, then you haven't experienced how good your tube amp is. ![]() |

![]() | Right on I know that the TriAxis is great, but it was so great last night. The thump of the bass, the mid crunch, the treble clarity; they were excellent, really. I do not mean to offend anyone's opinion here, but those who think that the TriAxis can't do metal or is not "heavy" enough, I don't think they have heard a TriAxis with a good cranked power amp. I use EL34L, by the way. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I can't even imagine what my amp would sound like at 5 or 6. At 2 it is already too loud for bedroom playing, at 3 it kills my bandmates' 5150, drums, and bass all at once, at 6, it would probably peel the skin off my face. _________________________ "Ah, she's built like a steakhouse but she handles like a bistro" - ZB My Soundclick Page |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | i feel bad for the good folks who own tube amps and cant put them up. at band practises/jam sessions, my master sits around 5-6, along with my crunch volumes. lately, i've had the JSX master on 10 and the channel volumes to taste, to get some power amp sweetness. probably gonna go back to "crunch volume: 7 master:4" at some point hehe (it gets pretty heavy at that point). 3 cheers for crankin' 'em up! 3 cheers for free gear!
