Well I'm just back from holiday to Florida and I picked up a Peavey Ultra for $310 inc tax! SCORE says me! Although its got an american plug which needs 110v and over here we have 240v which is a problem. I knew about this before I bought it but it was like £150 so I figured I could get something to sort it out and still safe cash.

Anyways after alot of hastle in the air port trying to acutally get it on the plane I got it home and had picked up one of those travel plug converter things. BAD NEWS : I plugged it in to try it out and as soon as I turned it on the light flashed then went out. I think it's just blown a fuse, I hope. But does anyone know if this is serious and what should I do / get be able to run the amp in the UK?

PS. It has Groove tubes in it, are these any good or would new one's make it better?

I'd buy yourself a good quality power inverter, you should be able to get one for around £60 on Ebay. That'll allow you to run the amp without the risk of blowing anything. Most likely you've just blown a fuse, but it's worth getting the amp checked out by a professional.
