Monitors for Pod Xt

Hi all, first post and im looking for some info.

i just got a pod xt and im currently just running it through my comp speakers which are crap.

could anyone recommend some good monitors that i could get so i can get the best out of my pod sound wise for recording and just general playing and listening. Its just going to be in my room because i use an Engl Fireball and cab live.

also im a bit of a noob at this sort of thing so if id need any leads or convertor jacks to plug it into the pod please let me know as well.

Im really just looking for something that will sound good and that i can just plug into the pod and play. Preferrably passive because i dont want to have to start looking for amps etc.

welcome to the forum!

well, decent monitors are fairly expensive. So what is your budget range?

i assume you mean active monitors instead of passive, since passive ones would mean that you need an additional poweramp.

ahh! ok well im learning as i go along i assumed it would be the other way around and that passive ones would be the non battery (or amp) requiring ones.

So yes itl be active ones. Really i just want some monitors where i can get a good representation of the sound my pods creating rather than it being distorted or coloured in any way by shitty speakers. i dont want to have to pay out the ass for them because i recently just bought a caparison dellinger 2 so im a bit broke. say £100 - £200 (i also have no idea what monitors cost so whether this is realistic or not i have no clue)
