Line 6 Spider Reviews
Anyone who has used them - please post your opinions.
I had the 30W Spider II and it was nice for the heavy stuff. I got rid of it - now I want to get another one back as they have the 12" Celestian which sounds amazing. Debating whether to get another one or to get another type of amp. |

Is it for home practice? If so, i'd get a Roland Cube 30x.
Otherwise, a 50 watt tube amp is going to be damn loud. |

I literally JUST bought one 3 weeks ago and MAN it is one heck of an amp for the price. Honestly, they're cheap enough that you could buy a new one and not feel too bad about it (I think mine was right @ $230 from WMC) if you can't find a used one. Great bang for the buck amp IMHO. I've only been playing mine quietly (like with the volume on the 2nd channel at 9 o'clock) up until this weekend. I took it back home with my Petrucci and cranked it at my girlfriend's house... WHOA! Had it at noon and it sounded EVER BETTER!!! The other interesting thing about the amp is that it really cleans up when you use the volume knob.... now try that with a line 6 amp! I've owned the Spider II 212 before and trust me when I say this: BUY THE CUBE 30X!!! Good luck with the search man, IMHO you could save yourself time and money by buying the cube, they are killer amps! Btw it might not SOUND like much, but 30 watts in this amp is a TON of power! I had it at noon and it was enough to rattle the windows... powerful little amp with a great sound! It also won't get mushy as you turn it up like the low power Line 6 stuff does. One of the only amps that they put out that still sounds good as you turn it up was the Vetta II, but that's a whole different price bracket! ![]() P.S. I have a deal with a dude locally for a Boss Micro BR that is going down tomorrow so I can try to record some clips for you if you would like to hear what the amp sounds like other than the BOSS demos on the website. In fact, check those out too because they are pretty good! ![]() ![]() |
