![]() ![]() | New stuff today Well today have been quite a day for me, I started off with the intention of buying new pots for my RG, two 1meg dimarzios ones to be precise. Pretty good deal £10 I was then looking about eBay and I found a tremol-no for £25, SCORE, brand new aswell Then to top it all off I bought a blaze neck with an AlNiCo magnet from a fellow forumer for £30 Most excellent day in my books, I can't wait to get this stuff through. Thanks a bunch eBay and NegaTiveXero ![]() |

![]() ![]() | I remember reading somewhere they tighten up your tone and they give you more of a sweep on your tone pot, dunno if its true but oh well lol. I needed new ones anyway, I assume everyones heard about Ibanez prestige pot problems? |

![]() No. Tbh, i'm wary already. I'm tired of hearing word of mouth stories about how Ibanez parts are shit and Fender/Gibson parts are the only decent ones. ![]() Link to this news? | |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | dunno about the questionable quality of ibanez prestige parts... The pots on my rg3120 feel smooth and work nicely and noise-free as well as the toggle switch for almost 8 years now. What I like most about ibaney pots is that they are not as sensitive as the ones on my schecter for example, which you can easily roll effortlessly with your pinky. I like pots to roll only when you mean to, and not by accident. They actually feel more high quality to me than those loose typical slippery strat pots... But as always: it's all taste! edit: back to the topic: so, do higher impedance pots mean more sweep range!? Doesn't the pot resistance equal zero when they're all the way up, so that this shouldn't affect tone? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | the higher the pot value, the more frequencies get through. if you want to hear your pickups "wide open", get 1meg pots. 3 cheers for free gear! "Do you like burned toast with your JAM? cuz we're on FIRE!" ![]() |
