![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Roland Micro Cube I got one of these over the weekend for a camping trip and I must say, IT ROCKS! It sounds better than my old Crate G-60 practice amp, and it's half the size and power. It's got built in Boss effects (chorus, flanger, phaser, delay, reverb, and tremolo) and COSM amp modeling (Acoustic, JC120, Vox clean, Rectifier, Marshall stack, and some other clean one) All of the models sound pretty awesome, the only one I can vouch for is the Recto model, it's not the same as a Recto of course, I wouldn't expect it to be, but it's surprisingly close and very powerful sounding. It has a 5" speaker in a ported cabinet with surprising bass response. It can be powered either by wall wart or 6 AA batterys (20 hours) It also works great as an iPod speaker (which I used at the camp ground) and also has a Rec. out/headphone jack which I used to make some decent sounding direct recordings on my Mac. I give two big for this little unit! |

It sounded so weak and mushy compared to the actual amp. Through the darkness of futures past The magician longs to see One chants out between two worlds Fire Walk With Me |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I've been looking at the MicroCube, but also recently tried out a Vox DA-15 amp and was VERY impressed. The DA-15 is essentially the same thing as one of the small ValveTronix amps, but without the "Valve Reactor" power amp. And the 15-watter is actually footswitchable with an option for three channels! And it costs less than the MicroCube. The Vox DA-5 is more comparable to the MicroCube, though, with line ins and optional battery power. I wish they made an amp that had BOTH the line ins and the footswitching capability. This space intentionally left blank. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Cubes are awesome. I have a 30 as a practice amp, but what I'll never understand is why the direct out sounds so much worse than the actual amp. ![]() |
