ENGL Blackmore

Anyone tried one? I just noticed it's cheaper than a Powerball. My other choice for a head was a Mark IV (~1200 USD I think) and the Blackmore is ~1400 USD (both eBay prices

From what I've heard it's got a lead tone to challenge a Mark IV, but how's the heavy rhythm? I heard some sound samples from netmusicians.org - the guitar gear mp3 database -- sounds pretty nice.

It's the dogs bollocks. Best amp I've played. Really versatile. Great cleans, better distortion. For heavy rhythm it can go from old school Marshall to modern metal easily. I don't know if I would choose it over a Mark IV, since I've never played one.

Ever played a Powerball? Seems odd that they'd make a better amp for less.

From what I've heard, the Powerball is a totally different amp, and I doubt I would like it more than the Blackmore.. All Engl's are great amps, it's just a matter of taste.
