Made up my mind
Well, I too have been torturing you guys with my "Which cab to buy" posts, but I finally made up my mind.
It seems that everybody loves these cabs, they seem to have an awesome, huge low end and they have V30's. I was really interested and excited about these cabs, but the damn colour put me off. I think you have guessed right: ORANGE PPC-412! http://www.ikebe-gakki.com/web-ikebe...img/ppc412.gif They make them in black too and the black ones seem to be available in Finland as well! I really hated the orange colour, but since they make them in black, I am so going to get one What are your opinions? And one question, my Peavey is compatible with 16ohm cabs but my Single Recto only has outputs for 8 and 4 ohm cabs. Are there any solutions? |

As long as the Ohms of the cabinet are higher than the amp's rating, you're okay.

With solid state there aren't output transformeras (no need as mosfets/bjt transistors can produce current asd opposed to valves which provide voltage amplification which needs converting to current for the speakers (hence large output transformers) so solid state as long as you don't put a smaller load on than recommended, and thus fry the output transistors by melting them, then you're OK. |

Yeah, I don't really want to take the risk.
This really sucks, since the Orange cab is perfect for my needs... Is the Orange cab a stereo one? The Mesa head has two 4 ohm outputs and one 8ohm one, so is there any way to make it work? I suck when it comes to ohm's and technical stuff... |
