Black Sable Tubes.

I noticed these have been added to the parts list at the tube depot, and was wondering if anyone has taken them for a spin or heard anything about them.

They're just relabeled tubes from other brands. Good ones though! All their power tubes are SED which are the best in my opinion and their preamp tubes are HIGH DOLLAR big name NOS and re-issue tubes with a Black Sable label on them.

I don't know how much difference the cryogenic treatment makes, but the testing/matching process looks thorough. There's no way I'd pay $300 for a 12ax7. Maaaybe a few extra bucks for the SEDs if there really is a big improvement over standard.

Yeah, that's really what I was curious about, as I'm going to be getting a trem-pot installed on my A-Down in place of the fixed bias resistors, so I'm going to really want to play tube swapper and if they really rip as opposed to the normal SED's I'd definately throw em in. 90 for a set of pristine EL34's(if they are) isn't too bad. Though the 40 for the standard SED's is A. O. K in my book.

and yeah, 300 for a GE??? that thing better make you play better

No, you get a PAIR of 12ax7's for $300
