![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Rack Based Effects Loop Expander/Switcher I'm doing some more rack research. Is there a nice rack unit that has like 4 different loops, midi capable and can allow me to switch between any combonation of loops 1 - 4? I hope so, because it would rule. Hard. I did a quick google search and all it came up with was the Radial Loopbone, I've owned one of those and they are excellent, but they're not rack based, and no midi. |

![]() ![]() | If you have the chance you should go for a Rocktron Patchmate. I think it was designed by Rob Bradshaw who's the man when it comes to loopers and switching systems. It's discontinued but you can get them on ebay pretty cheap. I got mine about 5 years ago and it still works perfectly. I use it to switch channels and stuff of my ENGL Powerball and to loop a Boss Chorus pedal. It is fully midi capable and has a Hush (Rocktron noise gate) unit aboard. If you want to have a look at the features you can download the manual (PDF) on the Rocktron Homepage : Support : Order New Manual : Manual Library (Left side) : Dicontinued Product Manuals : Patchmate Signature Removed - Image exceeds 300 px by 100 px |

It even has 9v power outputs so you can power pedals with it, and it looks like four relay switch outputs, so you can use it to change channels on an amp as well. Sweet piece of gear. Welcome to Sound Sculpture, Creators of the World's Finest Midi Controlled Rackmount Switching System for Guitar, Bass, Synth, Mixer, and other Stage and Studio Applications Their Switchblade 8 is about $850 direct. Yeah, it's pricey, but routing is 100% programmable. Of course, for less $$$ than the single Sound Sculpture unit you can get the whole ground control system: Digital Music Corp signal switching, routing and instrument midi interface "Dude, you need to find the right fucking meds to be on, because you are the most unstable person I know." |

http://www.rocktron.com/site/support...chmate.pdf.zip Sorry, I don't know how much they go for. I bought mine from my former guitar teacher. But it will be a lot less than for a TC Electronic G-System. | |

Definetly a nice unit and I'll keep it in mind when thinking about my rack. urklvt, That DMC unit looks pretty nice as well. The switchblade is way too pricey though. It looks like this will be more of a decision by my wallet Last edited by Zepp88; 05-04-2007 at 10:59 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |
