thats cheap! this store was trying to sell my orange cab for $1350cad ($1220usd) until they marked it down to $950. I was prepared to spend full sticker price if I had to though.. they sound (and look) that cool

I think I am going to get the Orange 4X12" cab, but there's one problem: I can use my 6505 with 4,8 or 16ohm cabs, but my Single Recto is only compatible with 4 or 8 ohm cabs.

So I am f***ed...

Damn this GAS! They even offer the cab in black here, I seriously want one. But the Mesa....

whaaat a black orange cab! holy shit! GET IT
My Mark IV only takes 4 and 8 ohm inputs but I run the Orange at 16 ohm into it no problem. Sounds fine.

Oh yeah!

I was really interested in the Orange cab, since it seems to be perfect for my needs, but I really disliked the colour, but then....
The Finnish importer seems to have them in black! Bingo! Everything I need in a cab.

I was thinking of getting a Mesa cab, but they are like 400 euro's more than the Orange and people seem to love these cabs to death, so I think I have to get one.

There has been a lot of mixed opinions on the impedance issue. Some say that it doesen't matter if you run your amp with a cab that has a bigger ohm rating and then some people say it will wear out the transformers. I just don't know.

Decisions decisions!

Phone mesa to be sure. The old Triaxis manual I think said it was fine to hook them up at 16 ohms, I doubted that, phoned Mesa, they said it should be fine, so it should be fine for you too.

Failing that you can take the back panel off and rewire them into all parallel instead of a series-parallel mix. That would bring the cab down to 4 ohms and that will definitely be fine.

Well, I took the Recto manual out to see what it had to say about the subject:
"Sensitivity to speaker mismatching in regards to ohmage difference is low, hence no damage to the amplifier will occur. However, very low ohmage loads will cause the power tubes to wear out faster"

Grrreat, I think this means I have to visit my local dealer

Oh and one thing, some people say that the amp will sound different when you have the ohm values mismatched. How much does it affect the tone if I use the 8ohm output of the amp in to a 16ohm cab, any noticable difference.
