Carvin V3

Has anyone tried one of these? I watched the little QT video on the carvin site I liked what I heard even though the guy demoing it was kinda lame.

I'm thinking about ordering one to check it out, See how it sounds with the old sevens. Any reason to recosider?

Get it!

It's an excellent amp. If you talk to the right person if you don't like it Carvin will cover shipping.

My sevens sound awesome. Well the ones I owned I only own one at the moment. For the money this amp will blow any amp out of the water. I used to play Mesa now I'm Carvin for life.

What would you compare it to or does it just have its own thing going on. The fact that its midi foot-switchable is freaking bad ass. And if it sounds anything like the shitty clips in person I'll be happy. I'll be using my 2 recto standard bottom cabs that I've had for 9 years. I'm a V30 believer \W/..

I think I'm going to go for it.

I would go for it. It has it's own thing going on for sure. The clean is purdy and the distortion gets right down and dirty.

I have the V3 cab with the vintage 30's. I purchased just the head at first. I tried damn near every cabinet known in my area. I ran across a kid that uses a Peavey XXX with a V3 cab. So he let me try out his cab. That next morning I had carvin shipping me a V3 cab.

For a tube amp it is the amp for me. I still want a good solid state setup so I have more tone options. Hell I hated tube amps until I purchased this beauty.

I've only heard good things about them. If I got one I'd have to order the head and an Orange cab though, and I'd feel kind of bad about getting a cab that costs almost as much as the head.

All this really makes me wish I lived in LA or NY though... up here in Seattle the music stores I've seen are pretty mediocre. You have your standard selection of amps, but that's about it. Nothing rare.

carvin's arent sold in stores unless it's used :P.

and if you want to try "mediocre", try a place that only sells marshall (SS at that!) and traynor amps, at jacked up prices.

and im done lol.
