if you play something like: ORIGIN,NECROPHAGIST,MORBID ANGEL. with very fast legatos would you choose JSX or the FIREBALL or the PITTBULL? and why? i m sTarting this thread because i started to get more and more interested in the JSX .

Since you allready own a Powerball you should stay with it for the kind of sound you want. Both the JSX and the VHtr aren't as tight and imo don't sound mean enough. The fireball sounds a lot like the PB, maybe a little darker and less headroom on the clean channel.

I cant comment on the ENGLs, but the VHT Pittbull was the tightest, meanest sounding amps I've ever played. Im so getting a VHT next amp purchase

The JSX however, was still a tight amp, but it didnt have that "mean" voicing that I look for. It does get heavy enough for what you want to play though. Its a great amp, definitely at least give it a try.

you know, i was thinking of the fireball too because i noticed its more natural sounding? if you know what i mean?? i love the PB but its just when i hear richness in the open chords like in VHT or BOGNER i start thinking about them too. if there is an amp that gives you the metal sound of the POWERBALL plus the tone of BOGNER and VHT

like i said, just a suggestion.

can you AB a JSX/FB? i own a JSX, but i dont even listen to the bands you mentioned so i cant really comment. all i can say is try one out, and be sure to play it through a good cab. i have the triple X cabs (its what i got with it, no complaints), and apparently orange cabs make it sound even better. orange or mesa cab w/ V30's/C90's, FB and JSX - try 'er out.. if you can..

Personally I want to get a Fireball. From I hear the powerball has a processed tone to it maybe thats your dilemma?

The Fireball is very similar to the Powerball. So in terms of what you're looking for, what with the Bogner, JSX, VHT and so on, it's not on the same level really.

I would imagine what you might be after is one of the higher-end ENGL amps, like the Savage, Invader, or the almighty Special Edition?

yeah i was thinking of them, but the invader sounds darker than powerball ?!! i heared the samples at rocksolidamps.com
in general i might not have the 2000$ + cash for an amp because im building my home studio for other projects i need to do. so if i had the money i would get 4-5 amps. i was thinking maybe the mixture of the rich tone and the metal attack of the powerball do exsist in the DIZEL HERBERT? but how the fuck im gonna afford one??
