Peavey Valve King?

I've searched, but I still have a few questions:

1. Is £200 for a used one a good deal?

2. Is a speaker change really needed if I'm not playing a 7 string through it?

3. I've heard it has "reliability issues", has anyone experienced any?

4. Is it worth it getting a cheap tube amp? Or should I be looking at higher end SS amps for that price? (£100-200)

Thanks

they do have some reliability issues, yes - they're not USA made, so they're a bit iffy. my friend bought one, it broke on him, he got it fixed.

hunt down a used peavey classic 30 instead.

3 cheers for free gear!

Bobby is a jewel in the rough
Yeah my buddy has one. Man how I hate that damn thing. He bought this stack for a horrible price. He cried when he heard what I payed for my V3.
I felt bad so I gave him my Crate Blue voodoo with cab.

Would go for a classic 30 as well. Good luck! on the amp getting.

not without a pedal. that said, neither will the VK.

slap an EQ in front of the C30, crank it up, and you should be OK. metal isnt about tons of gain, its about how the EQ is set up.
