Cube 60/ V amp Pro
Well i bought a Roland cube 60 a couple of months back and i always liked the rectifier setting for practice and jams. But recently i noticed that it needed a bit of extra tweaking to make it sound good (maybe an EQ pedal or something of that sort).Anyways I noticed a V-amp pro going for like a 100 $ new so i took the risk. Now i cant seem to get a decent tone AT ALL. The v amp pro sounds mediocre at best on the clean channel of the cube 60 and sounds really awful when played thru the rectifier setting. I dont think there are any other inputs other than the main one for the guitar. It just sounds too mushy even when the gain is dialled low on both the V amp pro and the cube 60 . I also tried the S1 S2 S3 L1 and L2 configuration on the v amp pro and still couldnt get anything decent. What do you guys suggest.
The V amp pro does sound pretty good through the ear phones and possibly through a power amp+ Cab. Im using a RG 1527 with a YELLOW blaze custom in the bridge (yeah i did write yellow) and air nortons in the bridge. My ideal rhythm tone would be something close to Nothing (meshuggah) and a good solo tone would be jeff loomis's. |

I don't know anything about the VAMP, so i can't help you there. But if you're running effects in front of an amp model, it's bound to sound asstastic.
One thing that i'm really surprised they didn't design into the Cube 60 was an aux in or an effects loop. Either of those things would help your situation immensely. The smaller Cube amps all have some kind of aux input... i don't know why they omitted it from the 60. And the 60 should ABSOLUTELY have an effects loop. I think it's that YELLOW Blaze Custom that's screwing up your tone. Everybody knows pink pickups sound best. ![]() |
