Running a cab in stereo/mono
I just ordered a marshall 1960 cab today and I noticed that in the marshall website it says the cabinet is switchable between Mono (16 ohms/4 ohms) and stereo ( 8 ohms per side). This will be the second cab I've ever owned so I don't even know what that means. Can/should I run the cab in stereo/mono? And I'm using my single rectifier by the way.

you need a stereo power amplifier to run the cab in stereo. With your mono single rectifier head you'll have to use the cab in mono as well.

Leo's basically explained it. Running a mono head there's no point in running your cab in stereo, however you have the option of running a stereo head or stereo rack setup with your existing cab in the future.
