Holy Mesa F-100, Batman!

Does anybody want to loan me $2300?
The local store just got in the Mesa F-100 head and matching 2x12 cab and I decided to give it a go. I had no idea that these sounded so good. I freakin' hate Dual and Triple rects so I never really play around with Mesa stuff. Tomorrow I'm going to head down with one of my Petrucci 7s and hook up an additional Mesa 2x12 and see what happens.
If all goes good, I think I'm going to half to sell off a bunch of stuff this week and see If I can swing it. If anything, I might atleast come out of there with the 2 Mesa 2x12 cabs.

FoxMustang is a jewel in the rough
I toyed with an F-100 and a 4x12 cab once at Guitar Center. Whoever used it before me must have set it up pretty good, because it ripped when I plugged into it. Those F series ain't no joke

No Soul has a spectacular aura about
Ive been a major Recto lover for YEARS, and a buddy of mine unloaded his F-100 combo to me for REALLY cheap about 6 months ago, and this things OWNS anything to ever wear the "recto" badge.

The gain in contour mode is just as powerful as Recto in the red, but much more articulate, and clearer.

My metalcore band (for which I just sing) guitarists (both of which play rectos) actually fight over using my F-100.

And the clean channel, being a vintage fender clone, cant be touched by any other high gainer out there.

The F50 and 100 are truly secret weapons of the Mesa family.

F 50 Lover will become famous soon enough
Hey guys this is my first post here, but this thread reminded me of an experience I had a while ago at a Long and McQuade. I plugged into dual rec, and after playing it a while ( at a low volume), the manager comes over to ask me to turn it down. He then starts talking about the amp to me, telling me how versatile and great it is, when I told him I prefer my F50 and actually think it is more versatile. He continued to argue with me and basically tell me I was wrong, rambling on about all the more modes/channels it had. Rant over lol

But seriously, considering the F series are the cheapest mesa line, I think they blow recro's out of the water IMO. But do any of you guys think the combo's get a little muddy if you put the bass past 12:00 with a seven?

Doesn't the user manual specifically warn against that?

actually, all the fuss that i've heard about the F series has been that they're kinda crap. i guess i heard wrong!

I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways,
we could reverse the particle flow through the gate.
We'll cross the streams.

thats going to be true for almost any given circumstance, seven or not
Mesas in general (f series included) have stupid powerful low end response.

Also, more gain =s more low end.
Vintage30s = muddier low end
so many things,,, Im not gonna go into it

Actually, the user manual states :"In the Channel 2/Contour Mode, try setting the Bass somewhere between (10:00 through 2:00)."

Regarding the F-50 combo, what is a good price for a used unit in good condition?
