I saw that in a Guitar One I think, stangest things. Apparently they built him a modelled Marshall Plexi that he uses to power the Prophecy. Yeah, to power the Phophecy. So basically they're custom modelled power amps

I would've just gotten a Carvin, but hey my last name isn't Mustaine.

Yeah I don't quite understand the point of using a modeling head as merely a power amp. It's like buying a Swiss Army knife to open your letters. Sure it'll work, but there are simpler and cheaper and better ways to do it.

That is Dave for you, though. The Prophesy is his preamp, and that is where he gets all his tone from. He was using Marshall EL-34 100/100 power amps before, so the Line6 heads are a replacement for that. I guess he wasn't happy with the Marshalls. Maybe he just wanted to get rid of the tubes entirely (the Prophesy is solid state).
