Swirl Job questions

I have my RG440 torn apart and pretty much everything is redone. I want to swirl the body similar in colors to the DNA. I have read up on how to do it on projectguitar but there are some questions. The first one is one kind of paint should I use? It said to use oil based but are there any brands in particular? Can I just go get oil based paint at Home Depot? Also I know you use borax to decrease the water's surface tension but then it says there will be a film on the top. Does this mean that the paint stays at the top or does it go completely through the water? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. You can see my progress on my picstory thread.

Thanks Adam, but I have already been there and had questions (see post) It is informative BUT not entirely detailed. I want to do the swirl this weekend and want to get it right as this guitar is my first baby.
