Marshall 1960A or line 6 Spider III 412 cab
I was going to go for the line 6 sence i already have the spider III 150 watt head , but one of my friends siad "go for the mashall becuase line 6 is specially voiced to handle the digital signal from there amps." I also plan to get a mesa later, and i think the marshall will do good for a tube amp. What do yall think?

The Line 6 will sound better with the Spider. However, if you're planning on upgrading, the 1960A is a good all-around cab...
edit: Damn, hit enter too fast One of the Line6 types around here has to have used a Spider with Marshall... |

I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways,
we could reverse the particle flow through the gate. We'll cross the streams. |

I'd say the Marshall.
7StringofAblicK-This is my footswitch. it changes channels on my amp - just like on a television, but I only have four channels.

not really. if you take good care of the cab, you can probably sell it for what you bought it for... if you're getting one used.

i agree with what mike said. the line6 cab will most likely sound better with the spider amp. line6's speakers (iforget what they are called) are generaly voiced with a flatter EQ response than most guitar speakers which helps alot of the models shine without some mid spike or other undesirable effect to make their models sound different than what they intended them to. this is also why some digital/modeling players prefer the flat response of a full range system like a PA or keyboard amp.
as for the 1960A- i have one, great all around cab, can't really go that wrong with one. and FWIW i dislike the 1960AVs (with vintage 30s) too middy and spiky sounding to me. ![]()

If you're planning on sticking with the Spider head for a while, get the Line 6 cab. It will sound better with the Spider head, like everyone has been saying, but it will sound like crap with pretty much anything else. If you get a new head, the L6 cab will be pretty useless. If there's any way to turn off the cab sim on the Spider (if there is any.. I don't know how that works with the Spiders), the Marshall might actually have potential to sound better with the Line 6 head, too.

One of my friends bought a Spider III a while ago, he got the cab and the head. They had the cab at the time but not the head, so they loaned him a M.rshall MG100H. It sounded better through the Line 6 cab than any other cab I've heard it through. They were mostly Marshall cabs though, not high end ones either.

I've always liked marshall cabs, and if you get one second hand, they retain their value unless you torch it,...
