Help me choose a speaker!

so i wanna trade my speakers out, i play death metal stuff mostly, i want something that can handle some serious power but still sound like something i should be using for death metal, i looked at those legend v12's the held like 120 or 150 watts, but it they have a british sound, when they say that stuff i'm not quite sure what that means, can anyone help me out picking the right speaker?

My recommendation...

Either a full set of Eminence Swamp Thangs or a mixture of Swamp Thangs and Tonkers. Best speakers for low tuned metal you can buy IMO.

swamp thangs huh, i'm gonna check those out, looks like they get good reviews, what about those texas heat speakers dimebag used, they any good?

I've never played with Texas Heats but other than the fact that Dime used them I haven't heard anything good about them. Swamp Thangs are very balanced, clear, tight, punchy speakers with a big low end and just the right amount of scoop to be PERFECT for metal. Other than the speakers in my newly acquired Vader cabinet I haven't heard a better sounding speaker for 7-string death metal.

cool, i think i'm gonna take you guys advice and try these out

do the tonker bring in highs , or i guess, what is the advantage to combining them,

The best way I can explain it is in the words of Ear Candy cabinets, "the Swamp Thang is a dark Tonker and a Tonker is a bright Swamp Thang". They balance each other out perfectly. Using all Swamp Thangs sounds great by itself but mixing Tonkers with them just gives you a little more range and makes your tone cut through a little better.

Eminence Speaker Clips

These might help. I really like the sound of the Swamp Thang and the Tonker. But I like higher wattage speakers. Lower wattage ones break up way too early for me.

Im planning on putting 2 Swamp Thangs and 2 Wizards in my cab in the next week or so. Anyone have any opnions on the Swamp Thang/Wizard vs Swamp Thang/Tonker combinations?

Some other guys on the forum (dpm and someone else whose name I forgot) have used that combination and liked it. Maybe they'll post.
