Are the extra podxt live tone packages worth it?
hey there, i'm really a metal guy, and i see they have a metal shop add on, is this really worth it? i'm not too in to the classic rock sound, but some of the amps do sound very nice,

I personally found it useless, as I like the Treadplate Dual model best (even with the metalpack installed), but I only use it for scratch tracks and whatnot, not my main tone or anything.

Ask bulb, he swears by his, and between DSS3 and bulb you'll find, IMO, the two best metal tones on this forum that i've heard
![]() The difference being a metal pack is WAY cheaper that a 5150, an Audix i5, etc, etc, etc... ![]() |

I think they are. I had them on my Guitarport, and the metal pack is definitely worth it. FX Junkie, not so much, but the actual models, absolutely.

I suppose... I also do a helluva a lot less post-processing on my guitars . What you hear in my clips is what you hear from the cabinet. The same can't be said for Misha's POD tone. |

Are you seriously telling me "nightshadei5" is near-as-dammit-straight 5150>cab>i5 tone?
Wow. Can't wait for mine to arrive ![]() |

When i first got them i wasn't that impressed but now i couldn't do without the Metal pack.
Like Chris said, the FX Junkie is not so hot but it comes 'free' with the Metal Pack anyway. At least when you've got the extra amps you aren't constantly wondering if you really should have them. It took me a while to get the best from my XT but lately i've been getting some brutal sounds from it.I found that it sounds hugely different with different pickups feeding it too. |

I don't use any of the base models, outside the JC120 for clean.
It's always the Uber, or the Purge, or something from the packs. |
